REPORT: PAJOY TO BE DEALT
National soccer writer Ives Galarcep is reporting Thursday that Union striker Lio Pajoy is being shopped.
Galarcep broke the news in a message on his Twitter account (pictured).
An immediate thought on any potential move involving Pajoy is that it would demonstrate Union interim manager John Hackworth's fidelity to youth development. Hackworth's coaching career is rooted in bringing along younger players and if a greener, less-expensive option is available -- someone who can do the same job as Pajoy -- why keep the Colombian?
Pajoy, in his first year with the Union, has seen a dip in playing time lately. He's started only one of the last three league matches. He has five goals and two assists in 20 matches, including 16 starts.
Again, this is only a report ... and not verification that any move has been made. Keep that in mind.
